Reinvent the wheel?
It’s very important to me that the majority of resources in my lessons are made either by me or a local artist, and are diverse and accurate.
Why do I like to make my own resources and visuals? The option for tactile resources, diverse resources, location-specific resources, and even just showing the students that their teacher makes art instead of just teaching art is huge.
How many “how to draw” worksheets have you seen that are only showing you how to draw one certain type of person? Diverse worksheets help give EVERYBODY in my classes support.

Brush Care sign for middle school- what happens if you don't clean or store your brushes properly? Physical brushes added for tactile purposes.

Middle/high school "How To Ink" worksheet. It's always nice to have some realistic examples for students to aim for. How many times have you heard "oh I can't do THAT" when you pass a sheet around?

Combo written and visual aid for ESOL students who may not understand the verbal or written words yet.

Drawing worksheet for high school students. How do you draw a range of faces? Emphasis on this creating an "average" face, not a "specific" face- but you can create a specific face using these general proportions.

Color wheel worksheet for high school students in ESOL classes. The focus was not to have them speak English, but to get something out of the class, art wise.
Accessibility in a classroom library. Click to see my presentation on tactile books and their importance in a classroom with visually impaired students.
Educational resources I enjoy:
The phenomenal Ashley Bryan performing poetry.
